Our production takes place exclusively in Skeppshult (Småland). We make use of all the advantages of regional production, such as short transport distances, complete control over materials and processes and a good working environment. All products are handcrafted from carefully monitored raw materials without the use of chemicals.
They are natural products that only require simple cleaning without the use of, for example, a detergent. Pre-treatment is done ex factory with Carlshamn rapeseed oil, which provides an ecological non-stick protection. This also gives the product its black colour. The pan is baked in at the factory and you can use the pan as soon as you receive it, so there is no need to bake it as with forged iron pans. If the pan is new you will need more oil / frying butter at the beginning. Within a few weeks the natural patina develops, which means that less oil / frying butter is needed. Our products have an unusually long shelf life. That is why we give a 25 year guarantee on the cast iron.
Skeppshult is the only Scandinavian foundry that manufactures household and decorative products in cast iron - in other words, a green and natural choice.
Cast iron is a material that has been used in the kitchen for centuries. It is known for its excellent heat retention and distribution, making it a popular choice for frying pans and cookware.
Skeppshult is a Swedish brand known for its high-quality cast iron products. The company produces a wide range of cookware, including pans, pots and bakeware.
What sets Skeppshult apart from other brands is the way they make their products. Each piece is cast and finished by hand to ensure it is perfect. The result is an incredibly durable and sturdy pan or pot that will last for a long time.
Cast iron is also an environmentally friendly material as it is very durable and does not require a coating that can wear off. Skeppshult products are also known for their natural non-stick coating, which is achieved by a special treatment of the surface. This allows you to cook with less fat and fry food without it sticking to the bottom of the pan.
Overall, Skeppshult is an excellent choice for anyone looking for high-quality cookware that is long-lasting and environmentally friendly.
